Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne

On April 26th, 2010 took place the inauguration of the finishing line of the Tour de France together with Gilbert DUCLOS-LASALLE (winner of Paris-Roubaix in 1992 and 1993), of Bernard THEVENET (double winner of the Tour de France in 1975 and 1977), of Jean-Paul OLLIVIER (sports correspondent).

Several renowned sportsmen of the Valley of Maurienne were also present such as Jean-Pierre VIDAL (Olympic champion of Slalom in Salt Lake City's Olympics), Jean-Noël AUGERT (World champion of Slalom in 1970 in Val Gardena and 3 times winners of the Crystal globe in 1969, 1971 and 1972), Françoise MACCHI (medal of bronze in the World championships of Val Gardena in 1970), Hervé FLANDIN (medal of bronze in biathlon in the Olympics of Lillehammer in 1994), Gilbert CHAUMAZ (cyclist which participated in the Tour de France), Damien SPAGNOLO (Winner of the junior French cup of mountain bike descent in 2003) and Adalgiso SICOLI (World champion of athletic Strength in 2001).

5:00 pm : meeting in front of the City hall before joining in bike the street Louis Sibué

The inhabitants of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne were there on foot or in bike to realize the last kilometer up to the future finishing line of July 13th, 2010.

PROJECTION AND CONFERENCE (THEATER GÉRARD PHILIPE)
 

8:00 pm : presentation of the Tour de France (organization, appeal to the volunteers, projects of animation)

8:30 pm : conference on the story of the Tour de France by Jean-Paul OLLIVIER, sports correspondent.

Drawing lots (prizes, VIP places)


Launch of the challenge 3646km : the personalities inaugurated the challenge by giving the first knocks of pedal. Until July 13th, come to meet the challenges distance and speed in the court of the Former Bishop's palace!
