In 2010, the "Fête de la Saint-Jean" will be the principal event of the festivities for the remembrance of the 150th birthday of the fastening of Savoy with France. The program below can undergo possible modifications.

The Chorus of the Arc, the Villarine, the Chorus of Maurienne present you their directory and meet for three plays of alpine traditional polyphony worked with " Those of at the top ".

 SATURDAY, JUNE 26TH 2010

From 11 am - Square of the Theater Gérard Philipe: LAUNCH OF the CAIRN IN PRESENTS

The Cairn in presents is a transverse project in several cantons and followed by the association SOLID' art. June 25th, 26th and 27th, all Mauriennais people are invited to come to celebrate the wedding of the fastening of Savoy with France with a personal and symbolic present (ex: one stone found in a garden, the wheel of its first bike) that they will give evidence on the square of the theater.

All these objects (wooden, in metal or plastic, to exclude the putrescibles material subjects) will be assembled under the shape of a huge cairn and interconnected by a thread of aluminum. This collective work, witness of the identity and the mauriennaise solidarity, will be inaugurated Sunday evening at 5 pm and will then be settled in a long-lasting way in a site of the valley.

Three big festive parades with parade of tanks in St - Jean's streets, converging on the Place of the Cathedral. With the cooperation of the harmonies and the associations of six cantons of Maurienne.

 

At 5:45 pm - Place of the Cathedral : WEDDING CEREMONY

Upon the arrival of three processions will be celebrated the symbolic marriage of Savoy and France through a wedding ceremony funny and moved played by the mayors of Maurienne.

From 6:30pm till 9:30 pm - Streets of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne : ANIMATIONS OF SREET

At 9:30 pm - Forum st Antoine : SHOW

Sound show,  lights and video orchestrated by the Chariots of Thespis. This professional theater company based in St-Rémy-de-Maurienne was created by Claude VIDEAU. The company was chosen to insure the artistic coordination of the Maurienne festivities of the 150th birthday. This show will be insured by the Company with the active help of the music schools of the valley, gathering on stage more than 200 musicians, extras-dancers, folk groups...

Different animations in the streets and musical show "La Savoie dans la tête" at the Theater Gérard Philipe under the artistic direction of Pierre BADAROUX

At 6:00pm - Salle des Chaudannes : THEATER PLAY

Organized by the local Crédit Agricole of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne. Beginning of the evening at 6:00pm with animations, followed by the theater play "Jean du Pays Cuvée 1860" (5€)
